Closely connected to the downtown and stretches 22km long, the bay is graced by a long sandy belt adorned by forever green trees, presents a breathtakingly beautiful seascape. Sanya Bay starts from Sanya Port in the east, which is lined by Binhai Avenues extending over 10km long, and ends at Tianya Bay.
Here you can experience the real life of a fisherman by approaching the trawling army operating the beach of Haipo in the west. Don’t even think trawling is an easy thing. Each net is up to 100 meters long, which takes 2 to 3 hours for one single operation. The net is released in the afternoon and trawled up from about 8:00pm. When the sun starts to set, rosy clouds are spread all over the sky. At this point of time in a near distance, you will see ten more or twenty more fishermen chanting their work song, “one, two, three” while pulling the net up. Will you ever want to miss such an occasion? Come! Trawling at Dadonghai or Yalong Bay is not allowed, only Sanya Bay can offer you the true scene of a fishing life. The catches are distributed in proportion to each participating fisherman, and will be sold in the nearby markets by wives or daughters of the fishermen. At the open markets you can always get fresh sea products to eat. |
